My arcade is amazing!

I got the Arcade1Up Full Size Conversion Kit and some Marquee Lights, and my retro cabinet looks incredible! The kit was perfect, everything fit just right. The lights really make it pop. I had so much fun putting it all together. I'm already planning my next build, definitely coming back for more parts!

Good deal on a starter kit

As a first-time buyer, I was looking for a good value to start my build. I found a Raspberry Pi Arcade Kit here that seemed like a solid deal. The price was competitive compared to other sites, and it included most of what I needed. It felt like a good investment for getting into arcade modding without breaking the bank. Overall, happy with the purchase and the value.

Great upgrade kit, good support

I ordered an Arcade1Up Gen 3 Mod Kit and a couple of LED buttons. The ordering process was straightforward on their website. Shipping took about 6 days to get to me in Oregon, which was fine. Everything was packaged well, no damage. The mod kit itself was excellent quality, all the parts felt sturdy. I had a question about connecting the LCD Controller Board, so I used their online chat. Response was quick, and the person helped me figure it out. Made the whole installation smoother. Really happy with the final result; my machine works great now. It's a noticeable improvement over the stock setup.

Decent value, slight wait

I picked up a Pandora Box DX and a set of Happ Style Buttons. The pricing was competitive, especially with the bundle. Everything arrived well-packed. The buttons feel solid, and the Pandora Box works as expected, great game selection. My only minor gripe was the shipping time; it took about a week to get here, which felt a bit slow compared to some other places. Customer service was helpful when I asked about tracking though. Overall, a good experience, just wish delivery was a tiny bit faster.

Got my buttons and joysticks

Needed some new buttons and a joystick for my old cabinet. Ordered a few Happ Style Buttons and a Sanwa Joystick. Came pretty fast, like 4 days. Everything was in the box and worked fine. My arcade feels way better now. Easy peasy.

Always reliable parts

Another solid order from here. I've bought multiple times now, mostly control deck components and wiring harnesses. Quality is consistent every time, and they always ship pretty quickly. That Sanwa Joystick feels just like the last one. Good to know I can count on them for my projects.

I'm looking at a Pandora Box kit, but also saw some Jamma boards. What's the main difference between those two for someone just starting out?

N Neil F. 3 weeks ago
Pandora Box is usually easier to get going, just plug and play with a bunch of games already on it. Jamma is more traditional, just the board, so you'd need to supply your own games or have specific ones in mind. Pandora is good for an all-in-one solution.

Jamma is more for if you want a specific classic arcade game or a few. Pandora is like a multi-game system in a box. If you're modding an A1Up, Pandora is probably simpler.

Does Diyretroarcade offer any kind of military discount? My buddy was asking about it for his build.

B Ben 1 month ago
Yeah, they do have a military discount. I think you have to verify it at checkout or something. My brother used it last month.

Pretty sure they do! Always worth checking the site or trying to apply it when you get to the payment step.

Hey, wondering if the Sanwa joysticks here are the real deal? Don't wanna get some knock-offs for my cabinet build.

R Raj 3 weeks ago
Yeah, pretty sure they're genuine. I got some for my custom fight stick a few months back and they feel exactly like the ones I've used in actual Japanese arcades.

They usually specify if something is a clone, but for Sanwa and Happ stuff, it's generally legit. If it just says 'Sanwa style' then maybe not, but usually they're good about that.

How long does it typically take for an order to arrive in, say, California? Need some parts for a weekend project.

B Brett G. 4 weeks ago
For California, usually within a week for me. Depends on what you order and if it's in stock, but I've had stuff show up in 3-4 days before.

I'm in Arizona, and it's usually 4-7 business days. California should be similar, maybe a day quicker.

What's their return policy like if I order a control deck and it's not quite what I expected? Easy to send back?

N Noor Osei 3 weeks ago
Yeah, returns were easy, did it last month for a power supply I accidentally double-ordered. Just had to email them and send it back, got my refund pretty quick after they received it.

As long as it's not damaged and you're within their return window, it's usually straightforward. Had to return some buttons once, no hassle.
